Concrete Assistant Superintendent
About the role
This is a hands-on, full-time position with day-to-day duties that includes working closely with the Operations Manager to manage the assigned construction sites and managing daily construction tasks and short-term schedules for one to six projects (depending on scope, size and location), to meet Coloscapes Concrete client contract obligations, project document requirements, safety and project budgets. The Assistant Superintendent will oversee the entire staff on a construction site. They will manage a range of construction roles and will coordinate all the activities of their direct employees and any additional contractors and consultants assisting on the project.
Responsibilities
- Understand project information and goals for each task and be able to identify obstacles and opportunities for our phase of work.
- Ensure the crew has staged equipment, materials, and tools for optimal output to execute work as planned and scheduled.
- Aid the Concrete Foreman in ensuring project execution goals are met for their portion of work.
- Communicate project status in a timely and accurate manner to all appropriate parties.
- Work with the designated Safety Crew Member to ensure that Jobs Hazard Analysis (JHA) forms are completed daily.
- Read and understand blueprints. Determine elevations from blueprints (tenths & inches above sea level in relationship to benchmark). Set elevations, design, and install concrete proper fall.
- Assist the Concrete Foreman in their absence and take on additional responsibilities as needed when required.
- Provide oversight, training, mentoring and assistance with tasks required of laborers, form setters, finishers, and equipment operators.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in the concrete industry required.
- Certifications – To obtain during employment:
- ACI Finisher
- OSHA 10 Hour
- OSHA 30 Hour
- Forklift Operator
- Skid Steer Operator

Pay
$70,000.00 - $110,000.00 (DOE)
