Concession Stand Lead - SMU Hospitality - SMU Athletics

About the role

As the Concession Stand Lead, you will oversee or delegate responsibilities within the food service operation, including inventory, customer service, food preparation, and food safety and sanitation procedures. Responsibilities may vary by location based on client requirements and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and assign daily work tasks to a food service team and supervise task completion.
• Train and guide staff on job duties, proper food safety, sanitation procedures, and customer service.
• Prepare and build food items according to standardized recipes and directions.
• Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures.
• Set up workstations, including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, and steam tables.
• Break down, clean, and sanitize workstations.
• Serve food to customers while ensuring guest satisfaction and anticipating customer needs.
• Replenish food items and ensure products are stocked to appropriate levels.
• Adhere to all alcohol service policies and safe drinking guidelines, including checking patrons' identification.
• Maintain excellent customer service and a positive demeanor toward guests, customers, clients, and co-workers.
• Adapt to customer needs and maintain a friendly, efficient, and positive service attitude.
• Follow Aramark safety policies and procedures, including proper food safety and sanitation.
• Ensure the security of company assets.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Requirements

• Previous supervisory experience in a related role preferred.
• Previous food service experience required.
• Must be able to obtain food safety certification.
• Basic accounting knowledge and experience managing inventory required.
• Willingness to accept change, new procedures, and constructive feedback.
• Ability to establish relationships with guests and co-workers.
• Demonstrated organizational skills to improve efficiency.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, meet production/service time schedules, and adapt to unforeseen changes.
• Consistent professionalism in executing daily assignments.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Excellent guest service skills.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Physical Demands

• This role may require lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing.
• May require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
