About the role
As a Computer Teacher, you will have the opportunity to change lives through education by introducing students to basic computer use, keyboarding, cyber-safety, and the use of various software programs for academic purposes. You will engage in meaningful work that makes a difference for our students.
Responsibilities
- Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
- Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
- Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide students through activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.
- Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement.
- Maintain effective and efficient record-keeping procedures.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
- Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
- Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and the community.
- Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
- Participate in training and staff meetings.
- Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, and coordinating meetings as needed.
- Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments.
- Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on campus, and in their lives.
- Be active in the role, including light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus, and traveling to other campuses as required.
- Participate in events outside of normal hours.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Pass a criminal history background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- A current teaching certificate from within the state where the position is located.
