Computer Systems Tech II
About the role
The IT Technician is responsible for providing technical support across the organization, ensuring the stable operation of computer systems, networks, and related technologies. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting end users, maintaining IT equipment, and supporting routine technology operations.

Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1–2 support for end users via helpdesk tickets, email, chat, phone, and in person.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Perform routine maintenance on operating systems, applications, and infrastructure.
- Support patching, updates, and system upgrades.
- Assist with network connectivity issues (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi).
- Guide employees through problem-solving steps and technology best practices.
- Assist in onboarding new users: setting up accounts, devices, and access rights.
- Maintain accurate inventory of IT hardware, software, and licenses.
- Support equipment lifecycle management including provisioning and decommissioning.
- Follow IT security policies and procedures, including password and access controls.
- Assist in monitoring security alerts or suspicious activity.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards and industry best practices.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and support logs.
- Track support requests using the IT ticketing system.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
- 1 – 2 years of IT support or helpdesk experience.
- Strong understanding of Windows and/or macOS environments.
- Knowledge of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with Office 365 or Microsoft 365 tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, or similar).
- Experience supporting cloud-based services (Azure AD, Intune, etc.).
- Knowledge of service management frameworks (ITIL).
