About the role
The Computer Science Teacher will provide high school students with opportunities to earn college credit, explore careers in engineering, technology, and computer science, gain real-world experience through partnerships with local companies, field trips, job shadowing, and projects. This position is part of a partnership with SUNY Niagara, where the teacher will implement and innovate programming to prepare students for related fields in today's job market.
Responsibilities
- Implement and innovate programming to prepare students for careers in engineering, technology, and computer science.
- Participate in partnerships with local companies to offer students real-world experiences such as job shadowing and projects.
- Collaborate with SUNY Niagara to ensure curriculum aligns with industry needs.
Requirements
- Required certifications: Chemistry 7-12 {5030}, Technology Education {6141}, Physics 7-12 {5050}, Business and Marketing {6021}, Computer Science (All Grades) {0236}
Qualifications
- Experience teaching Computer Science at the high school level.
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with local businesses and educational partners.
Skills
- Knowledge of current trends in computer science education.
- Ability to develop and deliver engaging lesson plans.
- Experience working with high school students.
Pay
- Salary: $45,577.00
