About the role

As a Computer Scientist Intern at Rackner, you will work closely with our team of experienced computer scientists and engineers on challenging and impactful projects. This internship provides valuable real-world experience in a supportive and innovative environment, focusing on automation of business processes and research and development for DevSecOps tools. We intend to hire many interns with similar responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the R&D team to design, develop, and implement software solutions and algorithms.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies and industry trends to support project development.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and debugging software issues.
  • Participate in coding, testing, and documentation of software components.
  • Analyze and interpret data to generate insights and support decision-making.
  • Work on cross-functional projects and contribute to team discussions.
  • Learn and apply computer science principles to solve complex problems.

Schedule

  • 10 hours/week during the school year.
  • 40 hours/week in the summer.
  • More than 51% of the time will be in-office.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, C++, or similar.
  • Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and software development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced and evolving tech environment.
  • Passion for technology and a desire to contribute to innovative projects.
  • Must be able to prove HUBZone occupancy in the current year within the first week of employment using one of the following methods:
    • Lease covering March 26-September 23.
    • Driver's License acquired before March 26.
    • Voter Registration Card acquired before March 26.
