Responsibilities

Instructors will provide instruction for day and evening classes by traditional delivery on the Midlothian campus of the college, by online synchronous methods, or by online asynchronous methods. Courses offered in the discipline include Introduction to Computer Science, Computer Science I, Computer Science II, Computer Organization, and Discrete Structures.

Special Assignments

  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
  • May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

Requirements

Minimum of a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours of coursework in Computer Science.

Work experience in the subject matter.

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

KSA's/Required Qualifications

  • Prior teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
  • Ability to use instructional technologies.
  • Willingness to adopt new and emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in meeting the needs of and providing instruction to diverse populations.
  • Prior community college teaching experience, in addition to experience in teaching a full range of Computer Science.

Qualifications

Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check is required.
