Computer Engineer
About the role
The Technical Systems Integration Specialist at Detroit Defense supports complex DoD programs by preparing, configuring, and integrating software and system environments for mission-critical platforms. This role collaborates with engineering and technical teams to develop software deployment plans, support system builds, and ensure successful implementations throughout the program lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and execute software deployment plans and installation procedures for technical systems.
- Configure, integrate, and validate software and hardware components within complex system environments.
- Support system build activities, software updates, and configuration management throughout the system lifecycle.
- Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and program teams to ensure systems are configured according to technical requirements.
- Troubleshoot software installation, configuration, and deployment issues.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, build procedures, and system records.
- Support testing, verification, and implementation activities to ensure system readiness.
- Utilize enterprise tools and virtualization platforms to support system deployment and maintenance.
- Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance build quality, efficiency, and repeatability.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
- A minimum of three years of experience developing, modifying, or executing software deployment plans, build procedures, or system installation processes.
- Experience supporting Windows and/or Linux operating systems within enterprise or technical environments.
- Experience working with software installation, configuration management, or systems integration activities.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and follow established configuration procedures.
- Active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Windows Server, Windows Client, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), VMware, Cisco technologies, Veeam, Trellix.
- Experience supporting Department of Defense, Navy, or other government technical programs.
- Experience developing or modifying software deployment plans within mission-critical or defense environments.
- Familiarity with systems integration, configuration management, or software release processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical documentation skills.

Salary
$150,000 to $124,000
