About the role
You will serve as a Computer Assistant in the TRAINING SUPPORT DIVISION, SYNTHETIC TRAINING DEPARTMENT of EWTGLANT. Duties include helping with the command’s primary interface to the NET (Navy Enterprise Tools) for tracking NMCI (Navy and Marine Corps Internet) users and inventory, coordinating with webmasters, managing and tracking requests, responding to customer needs, and assisting with phones and telecommunications.
Responsibilities
- Helps with the command’s primary interface to the NET (Navy Enterprise Tools) for the tracking of NMCI (Navy and Marine Corps Internet) users and inventory.
- Collaborates with webmasters to stay current on the state of public, private, and classified command web sites.
- Manages and tracks requests for command.
- Responds to customer needs across various IT encounters, resolving issues and creating responses when necessary.
- Aids with phones and other telecommunications services.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- New employees to the Department of the Navy must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
- Must hold an active IAT Level I baseline certification, such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ CE, as a condition of employment.
- This is a Mission Essential position requiring the ability to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or complete essential tasks.
Qualifications
- At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
- Experience in IT asset and inventory management, such as tracking hardware and users within a database like the NET tool; providing direct customer service and technical support to resolve IT issues; performing basic security administration tasks, including tracking user compliance with Information Assurance (IA) training.
- Experience dealing with communication channels such as SharePoint, Teams, and naval message management.
- Active IAT Level I baseline certification, such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ CE.
