About the role
Serve as the primary instructor and teacher of record for computer-application courses—specifically Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook—and deliver dual-credit courses with fidelity.
Responsibilities
- Deliver effective, research-based lessons tailored to student needs.
- Monitor student progress daily, provide feedback, and maintain grades.
- Maintain regular contact with each student and collaborate with administration on progress reports.
- Frequently review student-level data to adjust the instructional program.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students.
- Implement culturally responsive and research-based best practices.
- Foster a joyful, caring, and supportive classroom environment.
- Uphold school-wide cultural expectations and norms.
- Communicate regularly with families about academic and social-emotional development.
- Integrate 21st-century technology skills into daily classroom practices.
- Participate in planning and attending non-instructional activities (social events, field trips).
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Support annual mandated state testing.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or Career and Technical Education (CTE) Educator License with appropriate endorsements.
- Credential for the Work-Based Learning (WBL) designation to teach WBL courses.
- Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
- Two years of teaching experience preferred.
- Comfortable in a growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, and progress monitoring.
- High-quality written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
- Ability to manage confidential information appropriately.
- Capable of supervising students in various school settings.
- Must pass federal and state criminal background checks.
- Experience in a multicultural setting preferred.
