Duties and Responsibilities
- Design mechanical, structural, or product components using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD (preferred), or similar)
- Develop detailed drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs)
- Perform design calculations, tolerancing, and material selection
- Collaborate with manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective
- Troubleshoot design issues with Creative Director and implement engineering changes
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, safety standards, and quality requirements
- Work with vendors and suppliers on components, materials, and fabrication methods
- Maintain engineering documentation and revision control
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for existing products or systems
- Manage CNC production and 3D printing or additive fabrication technologies

Physical Requirements
Combination of office and shop/manufacturing floor environment

Required Education or Experience
- 2+ years of experience in design or product development (experience level adjustable)
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD (preferred), or similar)
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical design principles
- Adequate understanding of engineering fundamentals
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with fabrication, welding, CNC machining, or sheet metal design
- Familiarity with FEA, load calculations, or structural analysis
- Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of cost estimating and value engineering
