Job Description
The Rad and CT dual technologist position at Richland Center Hospital offers a unique opportunity to practice a broad scope of imaging in a welcoming community. The position involves delivering timely, accurate diagnostic imaging for emergency, inpatient, and limited outpatient cases. The imaging department uses modern digital radiography, CT technology, and integrated PACS, allowing for efficient work while maintaining high standards of image quality and patient safety.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with emergency physicians, hospitalists, and nursing staff during off-hours.
- Play a critical role in triaging imaging requests based on clinical urgency.
- Maintain clear communication with nursing and medical staff.
- Ensure patients receive compassionate, respectful care during overnight hours.
- Exercise broad skills and autonomy while benefiting from a collaborative environment.
- Frequent interdisciplinary interaction with departments such as emergency, inpatient units, and respiratory therapy.
- Contribute to quality control activities such as equipment warm-up procedures, daily checks, and basic troubleshooting.
- Follow established policies and procedures for exam documentation, contrast administration, infection prevention, and patient identification.
Requirements
- Certified Radiology Technologist, RAD-WI Certifications: CERT-ARRT- R; BLS-AHA AND CT Technologist, Computed Tomography Certifications: BLS-AHA; CERT-ARRT- CT
- Experience: 2 years RAD-WI Certifications: BLS-AHA; CERT-ARRT- CT
- EMR Meditech, GE equipment for Xray and CT
- Three or more years of combined experience in radiography and CT in a hospital setting
- Prior night shift or off-hours experience with comfort managing variable workloads
- Experience in a critical access or community hospital environment
- Background performing trauma, stroke protocol, and emergent CT imaging
- Familiarity with rural patient populations and comfort working with a broad range of clinical presentations
- Experience mentoring newer technologists, students, or cross-training staff
- Demonstrated track record of providing excellent patient-centered care with a focus on comfort and clear explanations
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives, dose optimization, and protocol development in CT and radiography
Qualifications
