Status: Per Diem
Shifts: 12-hour
Base Compensation: $44.60 - $71.06/hr
Opportunity for Night and Weekend differentials, on top of base pay.

About the role

Under the direction of the Imaging Lead, performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment and initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately interpret a physician’s scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.
  • Utilize computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues.
  • Contact the imaging manager regarding equipment malfunctions, supply requests, and any unusual situations that depart from standard policies and procedures.
  • Act in accordance with hospital policies with a high degree of professional ethics and conduct; discretion must be used in areas such as patient care and scheduling.
  • Responsible for the care of patients of all ages, relying on past experiences and professional training to meet standards for geriatric and pediatric patients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, some of which may be essential to the position.
  • Attend routine and mandatory meetings and in-services as required for this position.

Requirements

  • Associate of Arts degree or Associate of Science degree (Bachelor of Science preferred).
  • A minimum of 2 years of hospital-based experience with CT/X-Ray procedures.
  • Certification by the State Department of Licensing and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T. and CRT).
  • CT certification is preferred but not required by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (CT ARRT).
  • CPR certification by the American Heart Association must be maintained throughout employment.
