Computational Scientist for Electronic Structure Method Development

About the role

The National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR) is seeking a Computational Scientist to join the Computational Science Center (CSC). The CSC focuses on advancing scientific computing and data science, and this position will support and enhance the capabilities of Questaal, a Green's function-based community code.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current capabilities and answer user questions.
• Develop new functionality in collaboration with NLR staff.
• Integrate new capabilities and optimize them for various machine architectures.
• Work with staff on scientific studies to advance computational capabilities.
• Develop and validate methods for finite-time and nonequilibrium electronic correlation dynamics.

Requirements

• Relevant PhD or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience, or Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Demonstrated understanding and application of scientific technical procedures, principles, theories, and concepts.
• Leadership in project management and technical communication.
• Strong analytical skills and creative thinking abilities.
• Experience with high-performance computing systems and module development.
• Ability to lead and influence across organizational boundaries.

Pay

$83,600 - $150,500 annually
