About the role

The DeKosky Laboratory for Immune Engineering and Drug Discovery at The General Hospital Corporation Mass General Brigham is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to advance computational drug design and discovery, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) techniques. The ideal candidate will focus on computational aspects of immune repertoire analyses of antibody functional screening data.

Responsibilities

  • Makes proficient intellectual contributions to scientific strategies of the group/lab and plays a leadership role by acting as subject matter authority in the field.
  • Contributes to the design and execution of experiments and/or research projects.
  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods and technologies to obtain results.
  • Collaborates with external researchers and/or receives external project funding support.
  • Presents results and prepares publications.
  • Aids PI in the training and supervision of other staff.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in a related field of study required.
  • Previous research experience (inclusive of graduate and postdoctoral experience) of at least 5-7 years required.

Qualifications

  • Excellent research skills.
  • Demonstrated evidence of specific scientific competence in field.
  • Broad knowledge of field.
  • Evidence of potential for scientific creativity and original thought.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and leadership.
  • Able to contribute to publications.

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of computational drug discovery and immunology.
  • Experience with next generation sequencing (NGS) and bioinformatic analysis.
  • Experience with protein display technologies and antibody engineering.

Additional Job Details

  • The selected candidate will join a dynamic research team at the forefront of antibody engineering.
  • Projects are fully funded by the US National Institutes of Health and collaborative projects with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, with several ongoing efforts and new projects ready to begin.
  • Experience with MD or PhD in immunology, biochemistry, biotechnology, bioinformatics, microbiology or a related field is preferred.

Benefits

The salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $108,000.00 annually.
