Comptroller (Housing) Lackawanna County Housing Authority

Responsibilities

• Direct all financial and accounting operations for the Authority as the chief financial officer.
• Financial Oversight: Manage accounting and financial operations.
• Budget Preparation: Develop annual operating and capital budgets.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements.
• Regulation Compliance: Ensure alignment with HUD, PHFA, GAAP, and all applicable regulations.
• Audit Coordination: Support annual independent audits and maintain strong internal controls.
• Cash Management: Oversee banking activities and guide staff in financial and accounting work.

Requirements

• Four years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, including one year of supervisory experience.
• A bachelor’s degree including or supplemented by fifteen college credits in accounting; or any equivalent combination of accounting experience and training.
• Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirements.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
