Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a business, public administration, or life science field plus five (5) years professional-level experience in animal sheltering operations involving developing and monitoring animal shelter programs and managing input from and relations with community and/or external rescue/advocacy groups.
- Experience must include two (2) years supervising/managing animal medical-care, shelter-care and field staff with responsibilities for budget administration, operational planning, project management, statistical/financial reporting, performance appraisals, conflict resolution and interacting with the public.
- Requires a valid driver's license and good driving record, effective oral and written communication skills and MS Office or similar software skills.
- Must have the ability to interpret/enforce government regulations and ordinances, to facilitate public meetings and to promote public/private partnerships.
- Knowledge of shelter operating software and/or certification from the Society of Animal Welfare Administrators (SAWA) or National Animal Control Association (NACA) is a plus.
- A nine (9) year combination of specified education and/or experience will qualify.
