About the role
Being a Compressor Technician Lead at OTC means more than repairing equipment. You'll be the go-to technical expert for the team, helping technicians grow, supporting customers, and partnering with the Service Manager to drive operational success. This role combines hands-on compressor expertise with leadership, customer relationship building, and business development.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of compressor systems and related equipment.
- Provide day-to-day technical leadership and support to service technicians in the field and shop.
- Train, mentor, and develop technicians on diagnostics, repair procedures, safety practices, and customer service standards.
- Partner with the Service Manager to coordinate service activities, prioritize work, and improve team performance.
- Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, maintenance programs, and additional service solutions that add value for customers.
- Assist with customer inquiries, technical consultations, and resolving service-related concerns.
- Assist with onboarding and technical training for new technicians.
- Support quality control by reviewing repairs and ensuring work meets company and manufacturer standards.
- Respond to complex customer issues and provide technical solutions.
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Complete accurate service documentation and maintain strong customer relationships.
Requirements
- 5+ years of compressor service, maintenance, and repair experience.
- Strong knowledge of rotary screw, reciprocating, and compressed air systems.
- Proven ability to train, coach, and mentor technicians.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, including electrical and mechanical systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Technical certifications or vocational training preferred.
Pay
This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $45 to $50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
