About the role
The Compressor Station Operator is a multi-skilled position responsible for the operation and maintenance of gathering system compressor stations. Responsibilities include daily documentation, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency response.
Responsibilities
- Daily documentation of equipment, performing housekeeping, maximizing throughput
- Performing minor maintenance on engines, compressors, separators, generators, flares, dehy’s, VRU’s and coolers
- Coordinating and monitoring activities of contractor personnel assigned to the area
- Identifying and initiating emergency response procedures
- Completing and maintaining required reports and logs
- Maintaining equipment to maintain optimum availability and efficiency
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Gas or Diesel Mechanics certification preferred
Qualifications
- Knowledge of company, state, and federal regulatory requirements
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Understanding of OSHA, DOT regulations
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Skills and Abilities
- Customer service skills
- Computer skills, including vendor specific programs (Cat, Waukesha, Ariel, Murphy, etc.)
- Health, safety, and environmental procedures
- Good physical condition to perform heavy lifting and long shifts
