About the role
The Comprehensive Ophthalmologist at VCU Health - Richmond, VA is responsible for direct patient care and supervision at the downtown VCU Health campus and satellite locations. Excellent diagnostic and surgical skills are required.
Responsibilities
- Direct patient care at VCU Health campus and satellite locations
- Supervision of residents and certified ophthalmic medical technicians
- Participation in the 16 resident ophthalmology training program
- Maintain high clinical and ethical standards
- Foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility
Requirements
- Candidate must be Board Certified/Board Eligible/On Pathway toward Board Certification in Ophthalmology and have completed residency training in ophthalmology
- Must possess/maintain a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Virginia
- Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Candidate must be Board Certified/Board Eligible/On Pathway toward Board Certification in Ophthalmology and have completed residency training in ophthalmology.
- Must possess/maintain a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Virginia.
