Salary

• $27.37 - $41.06 Hourly
• $56,931 - $85,396 Annually

About the role

The Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) Program supports families with children born from substance exposure. CARA Navigators work with families, hospitals, and providers to identify and provide necessary support.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with CARA state law
• Complete comprehensive family assessments
• Support families in accessing needed services
• Review and revise plans of care
• Conduct home visits and contact SCI for safety concerns
• Transport families to support services
• Train providers on CARA law and plan of care
• Provide outreach to target populations
• Offer technical assistance to providers
• Manage and participate in CARA workgroup discussions
• Collaborate with other state agencies

Requirements

• Potential impact of substance use and substance exposure on individual and family functioning
• Working knowledge of community resources and ability to connect families to support
• Experience working with individuals who have experienced substance abuse
• Knowledge of strength-based de stigmatization approach
• Ability to multitask, work as a team, and communicate effectively
• Associate's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Family Studies/Services, Social Sciences, or Human Services and one (1) year of relevant experience
• Any combination of education and experience totaling three (3) years may substitute for the required education and experience

• Valid Driver's License
• Late hours and weekend work may be required
• Exposure to video display terminals and keyboards
• Frequent stressful situations
• Travel required
• Own mode of transportation required
