Job Description
Major duties and responsibilities:
- Fill in for compounder on a temporary basis to compound coagulants, slurries, latex, dip tackifier.
- Off load latex trucks into storage tanks.
- Collect latex samples and deliver to the laboratory for testing.
- Prepare raw materials for testing and deliver samples to the laboratory.
- Drain churns, weigh and store drums of churn compound latex.
- Match component ID tickets and deliver raw materials to the correct areas.
- Assist in cleaning storage tanks, churns, and work areas.
- Drum cleaning and waste disposal.
- Handle 50 to 100 pound bags of raw materials.
- Work with various types of chemicals including latex, ammonia, alcohol, sulfuric acid, acetic acid, THF,MEK.
- Must have ability to keep accurate records.
- Exercise independent judgement and take responsibility for initiation of work.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area as outlined in the GMPs.
- Other duties as assigned.

- A high school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Accurately able to measure weight, volume, and temperature.
- Operation of forklift, drum stacker, mixers, clarifier, scales, and air monitoring equipment.
- Additional Training Requirements: Respirator training; Hazcom training; Waste Disposal training; Confined Space Entry training; Lock out/tag out procedure training.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands or arms (to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls).
- The employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with the assistance of drum moving equipment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- The employee occasionally works in high places; in outside weather conditions and with toxic or caustic chemicals.
- The noise level in the work environment is normally loud.
