Position Summary
The Compound Mixing Crew Member Associate is responsible for safely operating production equipment and performing all activities related to compound mixing operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position supports production goals by ensuring materials are accurately weighed, processed, mixed, and handled while meeting quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate and support all compound mixing processes, including: Weigh-up and raw material preparation. Manual mixer operation. Batching. Stripping. Dicing. Material handling activities.
- Follow production schedules, work instructions, formulas, and operating procedures accurately.
- Monitor equipment and processes to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
- Inspect materials and finished product to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Rotate between various equipment, machines, and work assignments based on operational requirements after successful completion of training.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting activities.
- Maintain accurate production records and complete required computer transactions and documentation.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Comply with all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System standards.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance, quality personnel, and team members to support production goals.
- Work overtime and flexible schedules as required to support business needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Preferred technical or vocational training in manufacturing or industrial operations.
- Previous manufacturing, mixing, batching, extrusion, plastics, rubber, chemical, or wire & cable industry experience.
- Experience operating industrial production equipment or forklifts.

- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to learn SAP or other production systems.

- Reliable attendance and flexibility to support production schedules.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, climb, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Ability to distinguish colors for product identification and quality verification purposes.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, dust, noise, and moving mechanical equipment.
