About the role

Sceye is seeking a Composites Technician to support the fabrication, assembly, and repair of advanced composite structures. The role involves working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to build high-quality components critical to our aerospace platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate composite parts using techniques such as layup, vacuum bagging, and curing
  • Prepare molds, tools, and materials for composite manufacturing processes
  • Trim, bond, assemble, and finish composite components to specification
  • Perform repairs and rework on composite structures as needed
  • Follow detailed work instructions, drawings, and engineering specifications
  • Inspect parts for quality and conformance using appropriate tools and methods
  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces, tools, and equipment
  • Collaborate with engineering to support process improvements and new product development
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and proper handling of materials

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in composite fabrication or similar hands-on manufacturing environment
  • Experience with composite materials (carbon fiber, fiberglass, resins, adhesives)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment

Qualifications

  • Required Qualifications:
    • Experience with composite materials (carbon fiber, fiberglass, resins, adhesives)
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions
    • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
    • Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in aerospace or high-performance manufacturing
    • Familiarity with vacuum bagging and curing processes
    • Experience with trimming, bonding, and finishing composite parts
    • Knowledge of safety practices related to composite materials and chemicals
    • Ability to work with tight tolerances and high-quality standards

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working with PPE and in a manufacturing environment
