Composites Technician A

About the role
This is an entry-level support role as an individual contributor. Work is closely supervised and consists of routine tasks. The position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a future Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for eligibility.
Responsibilities
- Bond a variety of dissimilar materials (composite, metal, or laminate) assemblies, parts, skins, components, equipment, or structures into semi-finished or finished products.
- Lay out articles and cut parts or materials to size.
- Apply liquid or solid bonding agents.
- Operate autoclave, hydraulic presses, and ovens to complete bonding cycle.
- Control conditions of heat, pressure, and timing by setting and operating various controls according to specifications for the materials and bonding agent being used.
- Sand, burr, and smooth over areas; apply sealing resins to cut or exposed edges.
- Monitor and verify quality of finished product.
- Complete repairs on composite, metal, or laminate bonded products using inspection and rework instructions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 0 to 3 years of prior related experience.
- Minimal job knowledge/skills required.
Schedule
Flexible start time between 5:30 AM and 7:00 AM, working a 9-hour shift under a 9/80 schedule: employees work 9 out of every 14 days (totaling 80 hours) and have every other Friday off.
Pay
Salary range for this role is $38,500 - $71,500. Final offer amount may vary based on experience and geographic location.
