Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate a variety of hand tools such as hammers, files, dremels, drills, presses, low temperature ovens, pullers and hand grinders to perform operations like blending, chasing threads, deburring, angle checking, coldworking metals, masking, and braze application.
  • Fabricate aircraft parts, accessories, and trim according to technical specifications.
  • Repair components as needed based on manual and router instructions.
  • Perform hot-bonding, wet lay-up preparation, and cures using raw materials or pre-pregs, including glass and aramid fiber.
  • Use various adhesives and resins for repairs involving thermosets and thermoplastics.
  • Remove and repair damage to honeycomb and core panels.
  • Operate all necessary power tools and equipment to complete job assignments.
  • Accurately record time worked on shop orders.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, professionalism, and a positive customer service attitude.
  • Work with and around various chemicals while adhering to OSHA standards for personal protection equipment.
  • Maintain the shop floor free from clutter or debris.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
  • Participate in cross-training in complementary skills and seek endorsements for those skills to support production requirements.
  • Support other technicians through cross-training as needed.
  • Observe and report any unsafe practices or conditions immediately.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience with hand tools such as grinders, sanders, files, and dremels.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day.

Desired Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Prior experience with auto body, metal fabrication, and engine repair.
  • Ability to read/interpret manuals, technical drawings, and blueprints.
  • Prior MRO/Military Component Repair experience.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
