About the Role

As a Component Engineer, you’ll work on a broad range of projects in both laboratory and manufacturing environments, challenging you to learn and grow in your career. You’ll collaborate with designers, test, and manufacturing engineers, applying your education, experience, and expertise to develop and evaluate innovative technology designed to survive in hostile environments.

You will participate in Electronic Components Engineering technical assignments related to hardware development, manufacturing, and testing. This includes evaluating Electrical/Electronic/Electromechanical (EEE) parts such as integrated circuits, passive components, and hybrids, as well as preparing technical and progress reports, specifications, evaluating suppliers, and analyzing test reports. Coordination with disciplines like Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement is key.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct or participate in the selection, evaluation, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of Electrical, Electronic, Electromechanical, and Electro-optical (EEEE) Components.
  • Plan, direct, review, and coordinate the preparation of project documentation to meet customer contract and company requirements.
  • Prepare EEEE Component Source Control Drawings (SCDs), evaluate vendors, and analyze EEEE Component test reports.
  • Oversee Subcontractor EEEE Components, generate/review/approve Non-Standard Part Approval Requests (NSPARs) at Parts, Materials, and Process Control Board (PMPCB) meetings.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings and SCDs, participate in or lead PMP issue resolutions, and assist or lead failure analysis under the EEEE Components domain.

Requirements

  • Electrical/Electronic/Electromechanical (EEE) parts-related background or field of study.
  • Professional or academic experience with EEE parts testing, failure analysis, and/or non-conformance resolution.
  • Professional or academic experience and/or knowledge in the design, analysis, and/or construction of electrical parts and circuits.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

Desired Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience reviewing engineering drawings and/or specifications and providing guidance to design and test teams.
  • Experience working collaboratively with customers and teammates.
  • Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.).
  • Familiarity with the analysis of passive EEE parts, semiconductor physics, and/or operation of parts such as hybrids, integrated circuits, transistors, diodes, and capacitors.
  • Active or current Secret clearance.
  • Proficiency in AI prompting as it applies to this position.

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $70,500 – $130,900. The salary offered considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, and market considerations.

For Washington state applicants only: Non-represented full-time employees accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) for incidental absences and receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full-time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month, up to 52 hours of sick leave annually, and receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
