Component Engineer

About the role

Provide targeted support during Design Verification Testing (DVT) and design release phases. Focus on component selection, ensuring robust, producible, and supplier-aligned designs. Evaluate component lifecycle status (Active, NRND, EOL) and assess supply chain risk. Act as a technical liaison between Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform root cause analysis and participate in design transfer processes.
• Identify and mitigate risks in component selection, tolerancing, and manufacturability.
• Utilize and maintain Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems (Propel) and ERP systems (NetSuite).
• Ensure compliance with requirements of the Medical Device industry.
• Work to reduce downstream reliability issues, supply disruptions, and design rework.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude (BSME preferred).
• Experience with electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical components.
