About the role

Works with Gilbarco Veeder Root tank monitors, Franklin Fueling Incon tank monitors, leak detectors, line and tank testing methods. Provides knowledge and understanding of electronic functionality associated with fueling dispensing equipment for both above-ground and below-ground storage tanks. Serves as a technical resource for technicians to resolve field issues.

Responsibilities

  • 40%: Oversee day-to-day operations and activities of field-deployed compliance tank and line testing and inspection personnel. Directly supervise testers, prepare and provide annual goals and risk retention, interview, hire, train, and coach employees. Review and approve weekly timesheets and time-off requests.
  • 15%: Oversee review of reporting field documentation submitted to regulatory agencies and/or customers.
  • 10%: Submit customer job proposals, handle invoicing, provide superb customer service, and prepare customer quotes or proposals.
  • 10%: Periodically assist field personnel in compliance testing troubleshooting duties, either directly or remotely. Ensure knowledge of procedural expectations and specifications for various fuel containment test methods, equipment functionality & integrity tests, and leak-detection tests. Ensure all Seneca employees follow site and customer policies and procedures.
  • 10%: Oversee testers' inventory (equipment/parts/tracking).
  • 10%: Ensure site safety, environmental sustainability, and escalate incidents when needed.
  • 5%: Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

  • Occasionally works in environments with potential exposure to fumes, dirt, noise, equipment movement dangers, vibrations, dangerous chemicals/solvents, electrical shock, and inclement temperature extremes.
  • Ability to perform heavy physical labor exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.
  • Ability for overnight travel.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of related experience, including field experience with underground storage tank fueling systems (tank top, fittings, spill buckets, vapor recovery, overfill devices, containment sumps, STP, and piping apparatus).
  • OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour certification upon hire or within 12 months of hire.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Preference given to candidates holding current factory certifications (e.g., Gilbarco Veeder Root, Franklin Fueling, LOB).
  • Ability to obtain any state licenses that may be required.

Skills

  • Knowledge of electronic and petroleum equipment repair, testing, and products.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with field concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals supporting field personnel.
  • Strong communication skills with customers and cross-divisional departments.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction, translating management's desired outcomes into actionable tasks.
  • Proficiency with mobile web-based applications and basic computer programs.
