Compliance Test Technician
Responsibilities
- Support the build and modification of testing sets, including electrical harnessing, mechanical assembly, and part rework.
- Preparing PCB'S for testing, including soldering additional wirings, replace damaged components after testing, and place thermocouples on critical components. Perform expert-level rework, including fine-pitch components and BGA packages.
- Assemble complex test setups involving electrical wiring, fluid plumbing, and mechanical integration. Ensure setups are robust, repeatable, and safe.
- Collaborate with design, validation, and compliance engineers to support test planning, execution, and troubleshooting. Provide feedback to improve product design and test efficiency.
- Perform electrical and mechanical testing on high-voltage power converters, following detailed test procedures and safety protocols.
- Interpret engineering drawings and schematics to support compliance testing.
- Own organization, cleanliness, and safety of the lab space. Ensure all tools, equipment, and test stations are calibrated, functional, and compliant with safety standards.

Qualifications
- Diploma or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 3+ years in a lab or R&D environment, preferably working with high-voltage or power electronics systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Basic mechanical aptitude - comfortable with plumbing, fluid systems (e.g., chillers, pumps), assembling enclosures and fixtures.
- Advanced soldering and PCB rework skills, including experience with reflow and hand soldering techniques.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and setup execution.
- Familiarity with test instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, DAQs).
- Experience in prototype rework, soldering, and mechanical fabrication.
- Proficient in crimping and harness fabrication.
- Knowledge of lab safety standards and electrical safety certifications (e.g., NFPA 70E). Certifications in OSHA, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), or HV Safety Certification preferred.
- Able to lift 20-40 lbs daily and maintain a safe, clean working environment.
- Engaged, proactive, and positive when taking on challenging tasks, owning assignments, and taking accountability for personal and overall team success.
