About the role
The Compliance Technician performs routine testing, equipment certification, and maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment as directed. This is a full-time position based in Modesto, California.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to JF Petroleum Group’s safety policies and procedures; report unsafe conditions.
- Complete online and classroom training courses.
- Maintain all certifications and licenses, ensuring they are current and in good standing.
- Wear proper uniform and PPE; maintain a professional image and demeanor.
- Ensure company vehicles and equipment are properly maintained.
- Perform compliance testing and inspections at petroleum fueling locations.
- Meet due dates specified in work orders for compliance tasks.
- Complete all required local, state, or federal paperwork promptly and professionally.
- Follow customer protocols, including safety and housekeeping guidelines.
- Maintain inventory levels to achieve an acceptable first-time fix rate.
- Complete work orders within an ERP system and use electronic equipment to check in/out.
- Provide high-level service to meet customer and JFPG goals and expectations.
- Self-motivate, manage time effectively, and meet critical deadlines.
- Multitask, stay highly organized, and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Work independently and function effectively as part of a team.
- Use standard hand tools and job-specific equipment properly.
- Exhibit professional demeanor, strong communication, and customer relation skills with excellent follow-up practices.
- Frequently kneel, bend, handle, reach, stand, and lift up to 60 pounds unassisted (100 pounds assisted) while working safely in high-traffic areas.
- Work flexible hours, including some overnights, and travel as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Pass pre-employment drug screen, background screening, and motor vehicle records check.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Commitment to safety and following strict safety and technical protocols.
- High personal commitment to delivering quality service.
- Troubleshooting and logical problem-solving skills.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Possess or obtain certification in:
- A/B UST operator certification in each servicing state.
- UST Inspection & Maintenance, PEI RP 900.
- Testing UST Spill, Overfill, Leak Detection and Secondary Containment, RP 1200.
- Veeder Root ATG and/or equivalent Petrotite Line Leak equipment.
- Alert Tank Testing equipment and/or equivalent.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, stooping, standing 8–10 hours per day.
Pay
$30 – $38 USD per hour, based on experience.
