Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver clear, technically accurate responses in a timely manner to customer compliance inquiries, surveys, and certifications (Material Declarations, REACH, RoHS, CMRT/EMRT, PFAS, Cal Prop 65, Section 232, etc.).
- Cook up and validate supplier compliance documentation (e.g., Material Declarations, CMRT/EMRT, REACH. ROHS, UL, etc.). Ensure compliance data is accurate, traceable, and audit defensible.
- Oversight of critical compliance programs Globally; this includes development and implementation of new programs that support compliance growth and strengthening.
- Manage key projects that support and help to facilitate compliance scalability and integration across Samtec’s business operations. Lead all aspects of project management from scoping through execution — including defining scope, stakeholders, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Execute Samtec’s UL responsibilities both internally and externally.
- Execute Samtec’s WEEE responsibilities both internally and externally.
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams to coordinate on timely implementation of projects. (i.e. Logistics, Legal, Quality, Engineering, Sourcing, IT, etc.)
- Support Industry Project Managers (Mil/Aero, Medical, Automotive, etc.) on the execution of industry and customer specific requirements.
- Maintain and improve compliance tracking systems, reporting tools, and dashboards used by the PEC team.
- Develop, update, and standardize Work Instructions (WIs), SOPs, and training materials to drive consistency across PEC operations globally.
- Identify opportunities to leverage software, automation, and AI tools to improve the accuracy and efficiency of compliance workflows.
- Identify compliance risks and support corrective actions and continuous-improvement initiatives.
- Partner with cross-functional Compliance teams (environmental, regulatory review, sustainability) on the rollout of requirements and initiatives globally.
- Support global facility personnel for timely execution of PEC programs and projects across all locations.
- Support the Customer Quality Concern team with investigations and corrective actions as needed.
Required Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, or a related technical field.
- Entry-level candidates with a relevant degree and demonstrated aptitude will be considered.
- Must have abilities to work effectively with processes including software to improve the accuracy and efficiency of compliance operations.
- Problem solving skills are a must.
- Must be an effective communicator with both internal stakeholders & external customers.
- Need to have working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, O365, Copilot and similar AI resources / AI tools).
- General understanding of project tracking tools, such as Salesforce and DevOps, with the ability and skill set to use them effectively.
- Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes.
- Understanding/exposure to production processes i.e. injection molding, metal stamping, electro-plating, board processing, PCB, and assembly tooling is a plus.
- General Product Knowledge and understanding is a plus.
- Prior experience with customer support and engagement is a plus.
- Global experience is a plus.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, engineering, supply chain, business, or a related technical discipline — or equivalent work experience — is required.
