Compliance Specialist

Responsibilities

• Oversee a property portfolio of at least 800 units
• Manage and monitor compliance reporting
• Investigate, follow up, and follow through on matters that may arise within assigned portfolio
• Perform site visits and participate in external agency audits to ensure program property compliance
• Review customer data to ensure Federal, State and Local program compliance for the Housing Resources, Resident Services and Property Management divisions
• Compile data/statistics, prepare reports, documents, and written correspondence
• Provide recommendations for corrective action for Federal, State and Local housing programs
• Provide recommendations for development of new procedures
• Perform quarterly trainings
• Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in federally subsidized affordable housing programs such as Housing Choice Voucher, Tax Credit or other subsidized housing program; Program Certification preferred
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a compliance function with exposure to internal audit processes or continuous risk assessment procedures to include planning, scheduling, reporting and continuous review

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or related field

• Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to subsidized housing
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Able to work independently and exercise good judgment
• Accurate, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people of varied backgrounds

• Grade 21 - Min:$64,696 / Mid:$85,416 / Max:$106,136
