Position: Compliance RN. Location: Richland, WA/Hybrid (In office and Telework). Type: Full-Time, Exempt. Anticipated Schedule: Monday‑Friday 8:00 am‑4:30 pm.

Position Overview: The Compliance RN provides clinical oversight to support hospice regulatory compliance, documentation quality, and survey readiness. This position conducts clinical chart audits; reviews hospice eligibility, Local Coverage Determination requirements, recertifications, physician narratives, and face-to-face documentation; and identifies clinical risks that could lead to survey findings or payment denials. The Compliance RN interprets applicable Medicare and CMS requirements, provides education and coaching to clinical staff, leads survey-readiness activities, and partners with leadership and the QAPI Coordinator to determine root causes, recommend corrective actions, and monitor sustained improvement.
Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical chart audits.
- Review hospice eligibility, Local Coverage Determination requirements, recertifications, physician narratives, and face-to-face documentation.
- Identify clinical risks that could lead to survey findings or payment denials.
- Interpret applicable Medicare and CMS requirements.
- Provide education and coaching to clinical staff.
- Lead survey‑readiness activities.
- Partner with leadership and the QAPI Coordinator to determine root causes, recommend corrective actions, and monitor sustained improvement.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with active licensure in Washington State or a nursing compact license.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (driving is an essential function).
- Meet insurance eligibility requirements.
- Ability to independently drive within Tri‑Cities Chaplaincy’s service areas
