About the role

Amazon is seeking an experienced Compliance Program Manager to join the Denied Party Screening (DPS) compliance team. The ideal candidate will provide sanctions guidance, manage cross-business projects, and drive centralized, low-friction risk mitigation solutions so that teams can focus on core business priorities. You will develop sanctions-related guidance and SOPs aligned with regulatory requirements, apply guidance to complex investigations, and support internal/external escalations. The role requires proactive identification of how regulatory updates impact the broader program, including enhancing investigation frameworks and tailoring approaches based on risk and compliance needs.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and interpret new or updated sanctions regulatory requirements and assess their impact on the DPS program and compliance strategy
  • Develop new guidance to support onboarding of new businesses into the DPS screening program and to continually improve existing compliance frameworks
  • Review complex edge cases and sensitive investigations, establishing risk tolerances that balance mitigation with customer obsession
  • Support impactful escalations and appeals, liaising with senior leadership, external partners, and Legal as needed
  • Prioritize multiple concurrent workstreams, delivering timely responses and maintaining a sense of urgency

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years of experience in a sanctions compliance or related field
  • Experience conducting reviews of customers and business activities to determine compliance requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of global sanctions regulations, including OFAC and BIS

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience establishing successful partnerships with internal and external teams to execute tactical initiatives
  • Research and investigation skills
  • Experience in trade compliance, customs operations, customs brokerage, supply chain, logistics, or similar
  • Ability to translate complex compliance requirements into scalable processes
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CGSS, CAMS from ACAMS)

Pay

Base salary ranges by location:

  • USA, NY, New York: $107,700 – $145,400 USD annually
  • USA, VA, Arlington: $97,900 – $132,200 USD annually
  • USA, WA, Seattle: $97,900 – $132,200 USD annually

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
