Position Summary

We're seeking a knowledgeable and dependable Compliance Field Assistant to join our Compliance Response Team (CRT). This position travels between multiple Allied communities to assist with affordable housing compliance activities, including certifications, lease-ups, and audit preparation. The Compliance Field Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring that all assigned properties remain in full compliance with HUD, LIHTC, and other program regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to assigned communities to support compliance functions, including move-ins, interims, annual certifications, and lease-ups.
  • Review and verify income, assets, and household eligibility in accordance with HUD, LIHTC, and other program requirements.
  • Prepare and complete move-in, interim, annual, and initial certifications accurately and within required timelines.
  • Maintain and update tracking logs for move-ins, recertifications, and pending files to ensure compliance deadlines are met.
  • Ensure all resident files, reports, and correspondence (digital and hard copy) are properly organized and audit-ready.
  • Provide guidance and hands-on support to onsite staff to ensure compliance processes are completed correctly.
  • Assist with marketing and resident engagement during lease-up periods, including hosting information sessions and open houses as needed.
  • Step in at communities experiencing staff shortages, transitions, or high compliance workload to maintain continuity of operations.
  • Identify and communicate compliance risks or concerns to management and assist with corrective actions.
  • Attend and actively participate in compliance meetings, training sessions, and team initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Six months to one year of experience in property management, affordable housing, or compliance required; LIHTC or HUD experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to interpret and apply HUD, LIHTC, and other affordable housing program rules.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word) and remote work tools; experience with Yardi or RealPage preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organization, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgement, and ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance required; frequent travel between sites.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience
