About the Company
Rise Power Systems (Part of SMT Inc.) is a manufacturer-in-launch of UL 845 Motor Control Centers, UL 1558 Metal-Enclosed Switchgear, and Modular E-House solutions. We combine structural and sheet metal fabrication expertise with purpose-built electrical assembly to deliver pre-engineered power infrastructure for industrial, oil & gas, water/wastewater, and utility markets.
Responsibilities
- Lead product compliance engineering activities for new product development and sustaining engineering programs across the company's electrical power product portfolio.
- Own product certification strategy and execution, including UL, CSA, IEC, ETL, and other applicable regulatory approvals.
- Manage relationships with third-party certification agencies, testing laboratories, and regulatory organizations.
- Interpret and apply electrical safety standards including UL 891, UL 1558, UL 1008, NEC, NFPA, IEC, and other applicable requirements.
- Establish compliance engineering processes, design review practices, and product validation requirements.
- Manage engineering laboratory operations, including test capabilities, equipment, calibration, safety procedures, and resource planning.
- Develop and execute compliance test plans, qualification procedures, and validation activities to support product releases.
- Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to ensure compliant product designs and successful launches.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in product compliance engineering, certification engineering, validation engineering, or electrical product testing.
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards and certification processes, including UL, CSA, IEC, and NRTL requirements.
- Experience managing product certification activities for complex electrical equipment and systems.
- Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering projects from concept through certification and production release.
- Demonstrated experience managing laboratories, test equipment, validation processes, or technical engineering resources.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and external organizations.
