About the role
Sunrun is the largest dedicated residential solar and storage company in the U.S., on a mission to make energy more reliable and affordable. The Compliance Engineer leads SnapNrack’s regulatory compliance, certification, and product-approval activities, owning the compliance strategy throughout the product lifecycle to ensure products are designed, tested, certified, and maintained in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements while supporting long-term product commercialization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute certification strategies for new and existing products, including UL, Intertek, ICC, and regional compliance programs.
- Proactively monitor changes to codes, standards, and certification requirements, translating new requirements into engineering actions.
- Integrate compliance planning into Product Development to ensure certification requirements are addressed early in the design process.
- Coordinate external testing laboratories, certification agencies, and engineering consultants while managing certification schedules and technical documentation.
- Maintain approved module lists, certification records, engineering documentation, and regulatory change management.
- Partner with Technical Engineering and Application Engineering to interpret compliance requirements for customer applications.
- Support Sales and Customer Care with compliance documentation, customer inquiries, and technical product approvals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- Must have Solar or Racking Industry Experience.
- 5+ years supporting product compliance, testing, or certification.
- Experience working with UL, Intertek, or similar certification organizations.
- Strong project management, technical communication, and analytical skills.

Pay
Starting salary for this opportunity: $110,570.94 to $147,427.92. Compensation decisions will not be based on a candidate's salary history.
