Compliance Counsel
About the Role
Traliant is the expert HR compliance partner that helps reduce people-related risk by reinforcing better employee behavior and ensuring HR compliance. We are seeking an experienced Compliance Counsel to join our Legal Compliance team. The Compliance Counsel will provide legal guidance and support on all compliance-related products and services, including creating training content, tracking legal developments, managing our 50-state handbook service, drafting and consulting on marketing materials, and preparing and leading webinars on legal topics relevant to our clients and the larger HR and Compliance audience.

Responsibilities
- Own Traliant's handbook service, including creating, reviewing, revising, and updating employee handbooks.
- Provide guidance to clients on workplace policies, including EEO policy and handbook reviews, and meet with potential clients to discuss.
- Serve as the Legal Compliance subject matter expert (SME) for specific legal and compliance topics.
- Take shared ownership of course creation, including drafting, reviewing, revising, and updating scripts for training content (from longer online courses to micro trainings).
- Review pre-release course builds to flag edits and errors.
- Prepare or review materials to educate sales team members on course content and compliance requirements.
- Prepare or review content-related marketing materials like course pages, fact sheets, and other resources, particularly regarding legal compliance elements.
- Provide compliance guidance to clients, prospective clients, and internal team members as an SME.
- Create marketing content by drafting articles and preparing and presenting webinars on current legal topics.
Requirements
- JD or equivalent degree from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 4+ years of practice experience in employment law or another relevant area, with a preference for law firm or in-house experience.
- Broad knowledge of federal and state EEO and wage-and-hour laws.
- Experience drafting and reviewing compliant human resources policies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with comfort presenting information internally and externally.
- Strong presentation skills and comfort being on camera during internal and external meetings.
- Proven ability to manage time and workload from a remote/home-based office.

Pay
This role offers an annual base salary range of $95,000 - $125,000, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.
