Compliance Counsel | $100/hr Remote

Short-term contract role (9 weeks) at $100/hour, fully remote, up to 40 hours/week with 4 hours overlap with PST.

Responsibilities

• Create and evaluate high-difficulty regulatory and compliance tasks.
• Develop scenarios covering regulatory interpretation, compliance programs, risk assessments, policies, controls, monitoring, and regulatory reporting.
• Review AI-generated outputs for legal and regulatory accuracy.
• Assess regulatory risks and evaluate how requirements translate into practical business guidance.
• Review and calibrate team outputs and provide expert feedback.
• Escalate complex cases and rubric-related issues when required.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in regulatory law, compliance, risk management, or related legal advisory roles.
• JD, law degree, or equivalent qualification, preferably with regulatory/compliance experience.
• Strong knowledge of laws, regulations, regulatory guidance, and internal policies.
• Experience designing, implementing, and improving compliance programs, policies, controls, monitoring, risk assessments, training, and regulatory reporting.
• Strong legal judgment and ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical business guidance.
• Strong analytical, written communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
