About the role
We are seeking a meticulous, detail-oriented Compliance Auditor to join our Compliance Team. This role specializes in hard-file review and plays a crucial part in ensuring files comply with all relevant laws, Affordable Care Act regulations, and internal policies. The Compliance Auditor will carefully examine resident files, documentation, and records to identify non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions. The ideal candidate must possess a high degree of professionalism and positive engagement for residents and staff.

Responsibilities
- Compliance Management:
- Conduct in-depth reviews of hard files, including lease agreements, tenant records, financial documents, and maintenance records to assess compliance with leasing agreements, safety regulations, and fair housing laws.
- Examine property records and documentation to identify discrepancies or potential compliance issues.
- Collaborate with property managers and relevant staff to address compliance concerns and guide corrective actions.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local regulations related to property management and leasing.
- Generate detailed audit reports highlighting findings, recommendations, and areas requiring corrective action.
- Provide support for the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures.
- Stay informed about changes in property management and compliance regulations to ensure organizational compliance.
- Offer guidance and training to property management teams on maintaining compliance through proper documentation and record-keeping.
- Adherence to Property Management Rules, Regulations, and Guidelines:
- Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, Fair Housing, Americans with Disabilities Act, and all other laws pertaining to the housing industry.
Requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills, particularly with hard file examination.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Knowledge of Affordable Housing regulations highly desired.
- Working knowledge of Yardi Voyager Property Management software highly desired.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Classified as essential staff; expected to report to work and adhere to all safety and business protocols.
- Frequent sitting and walking.
- Travel within the region and to other business offices and events via airline, trains, and automobiles.
- Repetitive use of computer, keyboard, mouse, and phone.
- Reading, comprehending, writing, performing calculations, and communicating verbally.
- May work in elevated sites and walk on uneven ground.
- Occasional squatting, bending neck/waist, twisting neck/waist, pushing, and pulling.

Pay
Compensation Range: $29.35 - $31.35 USD per hour.
