About the role
The Compliance Associate (Privacy Associate) serves as an essential member of the Corporate Compliance team, reporting to the Privacy Officer.
Responsibilities
- Oversight and/or conducting investigations into potential compliance violations reported to Corporate Compliance, primarily focusing on privacy concerns.
- Developing, implementing, and auditing adherence to compliance, administrative, and clinical policies and procedures.
- Maintaining awareness of regulatory changes that could impact AMHS privacy policies and procedures, and identifying potential risks for follow-up and oversight.
- Designing, developing, and executing systematic evaluations of controls and processes throughout AMHS, providing recommendations to enhance compliance and performance.
- Providing education and training on privacy policies and procedures to AMHS personnel, including the creation of educational materials.
- Offering consultations to AMHS personnel on internal monitoring for privacy compliance, adherence to applicable rules, and implementation of privacy policies and procedures.
- Documenting work in a structured database and frequently drafting work products such as reports, agendas, and checklists.
- Conducting research into issues and providing evidence-based recommendations.
Requirements
- Education and experience to effectively communicate complex ideas and analysis to various audiences.
- Highly sensitive and confidential matters affecting AMHS must be handled with strict confidentiality and heightened levels of care.
- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in emotionally charged situations involving high stakes.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in a collaborative and professional setting.
- Proficiency in using strong writing skills, including effective organization and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of regulatory landscapes and the ability to identify potential risks and implement solutions to ensure legal, ethical, and compliant operations.
- Experience in designing, developing, and executing systematic evaluations of controls and processes.
- Ability to educate and train AMHS personnel on privacy policies and procedures.
- Experience in conducting research and providing evidence-based recommendations.
