REPORTS TO: Director, Finance & US Government Compliance SUPERVISES: N/A Authorities / Responsibilities Responsible for the development of all Finance procedure manualsWrites, rewrites and edits documentsConducts review and approval meetingsAcquires subject matter knowledge by interviewing and observing task specific Finance personnelResponsible for ensuring all updates and changes to Finance manuals are processed, documented and communicated to the Finance teamResponsible for the development of all Finance policiesEnsures annual review of policies and procedures occursMaintains all electronic and paper files as it relates to Finance policies and proceduresAbility to work with other departments as need arises for development of additional policies and proceduresOversee as-needed test/reviews of policies and procedures and report on effectiveness and suggested improvementsTrack recommended policy and procedure updates to completion and perform follow-up testing for effectivenessAct as a Compliance Champion for the organization and work to promote a culture of compliance throughout the organizationSupport business unit Tier 1 Compliance Lead in responsibilities as required Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience Bachelor’s degree required3-5 years of Accounting / Finance experience with proven written communication skills; government contracting experience preferred2-4 years experience as a technical writer with emphasis on policies and procedures preferred.Excellent written and oral communication skillsExperience interfacing with others to gather information needed to accurately gather necessary dataExperience with Microsoft applications and flowcharting software is required and proficiency demonstratedGeneral knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS and Disclosure Statements preferredUnderstanding of audit environment in which Finance department operates TOOLS: NA DIRECTION EXERCISED: None DISCRETION EXERCISED: Ability to work independent and exercise sound judgment LIAISES WITH: Finance department team Additional Guidelines Candidates must meet the following employment eligibility guidelines to be considered for employment with Austal USA: 18 years of age or older at time of applicationAble to provide proof of US Person StatusNo felony convictions of Theft/Deception or Violent crimes within seven years from disposition dateNo felony convictions of Drug crimes within three years from disposition dateWilling to submit to a drug screenWilling to submit to a background check Equal Employment Commitment Any qualified individual with a disability who is having difficulty in completing an application because of incompatible technology or other disability-related application issues may contact us at the following phone number for assistance: 251-445-1932.
