Complex Specimen Processor PRN- Histology
Job Summary
You Will:
- Manage and handle inbound and outbound samples.
- Track, accession, register, prepare, label, and handle laboratory specimens.
- Ensure positive patient identification.
- Perform patient registration and test order entry.
- Understand specimen collection, storage, transport, and testing requirements.
- Prepare, label, and handle laboratory specimens according to established policies.
- Manage the storage and discard of samples and/or slides.
- Perform instrument set-up, preventative maintenance, and quality assurance procedures.
- Complete associated documentation.
- Identify and take corrective action for unacceptable outcomes.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement.
- Provide input into workflow design.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- Associate’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
- Knowledge of laboratory methods and specimen collection, storage, transport, and testing requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and effective teamwork.
- Ability to organize work according to priority.
