Complex Specimen Processor PRN- Histology

Job Summary

You Will:

• Manage and handle inbound and outbound samples.
• Track, accession, register, prepare, label, and handle laboratory specimens.
• Ensure positive patient identification.
• Perform patient registration and test order entry.
• Understand specimen collection, storage, transport, and testing requirements.
• Prepare, label, and handle laboratory specimens according to established policies.
• Manage the storage and discard of samples and/or slides.
• Perform instrument set-up, preventative maintenance, and quality assurance procedures.
• Complete associated documentation.
• Identify and take corrective action for unacceptable outcomes.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement.
• Provide input into workflow design.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory methods and specimen collection, storage, transport, and testing requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and effective teamwork.
• Ability to organize work according to priority.
