Complex Adult Health/Critical Care Clinical Faculty (Part-Time)

About the role

The clinical instructor implements the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system and profession. They assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments, plan clinical experiences, provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students, evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on their level of performance, and orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations.

Responsibilities

• Teaches and supervises nursing students in clinical settings
• Evaluates and provides feedback on student performance
• Orients and updates students on agency/clinical policies and procedures
• Grades assignments and reports to course coordinators
• May teach didactic course content under supervision
• Keeps course coordinators informed of student and agency issues
• Reports to the dean or assistant dean regarding course matters

Qualifications

• A master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university
• An unencumbered professional nursing license in Texas
• At least two years professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required to teach at certain clinical partner sites
• Exceptional subject matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning
• Eager to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect, and care
• Operates with a sense of responsibility and purpose

Pay

The expected compensation rate for this position is between $560 per assignment to $7,245 per assignment, depending on the credit hour assigned to the course. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law.
