Competition Crew Lead

Maintenance of Race Venues

The Competitions Crew Lead is responsible for maintaining inventory of racecourse equipment and tools. They schedule staff members in line with operational needs and budget. They communicate effectively with counterparts in mountain operations.

Setup and Operation

• Set up, operate, maintain, and dismantle a safe dual GS/SL course for NASTAR/Group races.
• Set up/maintain/remove a venue closure.
• Set up/operate/maintain/dismantle race finish area (timing equipment, fences, etc.).
• Set up/operate/maintain/dismantle race start area (banners, fencing, computers, etc.).
• Cookordination of staff during races, competitions, and other mountain events.
• Maintain/operate race venue in a safe manner consistent with accepted practices.
• Operate equipment and machinery in a safe manner following all Solitude Mountain Resort guidelines.

Guest Services

The Competitions Crew Lead provides quality guest service by working together as a cohesive, responsible team. They provide guests with race venue information and other resort facts.

Other Duties

The Competitions Crew Lead performs other duties as assigned by the Team Solitude Manager or Ski and Ride School Management. They support with other on-mountain events.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc... Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with equipment. Exposure to: Ultraviolet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack of atmospheric filtration at work altitude. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees. Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
