About the role

Reports to: Comp Crew Lead and Teams Manager
Location: Solitude Mountain Resort
Classification: Full time / Part time / Seasonal / Hourly

Pay

$18.65

Responsibilities

• Safely prepare, operate, maintain, and dismantle on-hill race training venues.
• Provide support to mountain operations and events.
• Set-up, operate, maintain, and dismantle race training, events, and Snowsports corrals.
• Set-up, maintain, and remove venue closures.
• Set-up, operate, maintain, and dismantle race finish areas (timing equipment, fences, etc.).
• Set-up, operate, maintain, and dismantle race start areas (banners, fencing, computers, etc.).
• Maintain and operate race and event venues in a safe manner consistent with accepted practices.
• Operate equipment and machinery safely following all Solitude Mountain Resort guidelines.
• Provide quality guest service by working as a cohesive, responsible team.
• Provide guests with race venue information and other resort facts.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Solitude Manager or Ski and Ride School Management.
• Weekend, holiday, and mid-week work required.

Requirements

• Intermediate to advanced skiing ability without using ski poles while carrying awkward loads.
• Desire and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work well with others and provide quality guest services.
• Good communication, organization, and teamwork skills required.
• Basic computer, cash register, and point-of-sales skills required.
• Alpine ski racing and/or freeride skiing knowledge/experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ski race timing equipment and procedures desired (training provided upon hire).

Mountain Environment

Primary work environment is outdoors with high exposure to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, and lightning. Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking on uneven terrain with equipment. Exposure to ultraviolet radiation enhanced by altitude. Continuous talking and hearing for guest, supervisor, and employee communication. Continuous near-vision and depth perception required for safe operation.
