About the role
This position focuses on the development, implementation, and administration of compensation and benefits programs designed to attract, reward, and retain top talent at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and administer compensation and benefits programs.
- Ensure programs align with organizational goals and support talent acquisition and retention.
- Interpret and apply compensation policies and systems.
- Integrate compensation programs with other HR functions and organizational needs.
- Manage data, processes, and tools for survey management, market pricing, and competitive analysis.
- Develop and execute project plans for compensation initiatives, including moderate-complexity projects.
- Create and run queries and reports from HR information systems, preferably Oracle or PeopleSoft.
- Draft business correspondence, reports, and presentations.
- Operate in a compliance-driven environment with governmental oversight.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, or
- Master’s degree or higher and 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of compensation function operations, policy interpretation, and systems design.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PeopleSoft, and related technologies for data management and process streamlining.
- Demonstrated experience managing and executing project plans.
- Experience developing and running queries/reports from HR information systems (Oracle or PeopleSoft preferred).
- Strong communication and consultative skills.
- Experience in compensation within a compliance environment and with governmental oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional license and/or certification (e.g., Certified Compensation Professional).
- Consulting experience with firms such as Mercer, Watson Wyatt, Larson, Hewitt, or Aon.

Pay
Full pay range for this position: USD $95,300.00 – $147,600.00 per year. Starting pay is calculated from the minimum of the range and is determined based on job-related skills, qualifications, and experience. This approach excludes positions governed by collective bargaining agreements or certain limited-term roles with specific pay rules.
