Responsibilities

  • Manage escalated benefits matters, including complex claims, exception requests, and correction scenarios, while working with providers and internal partners to reach timely resolutions.
  • Administer enrollments, qualifying life event changes, and terminations with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and employee experience.
  • Lead open enrollment activities by coordinating system setup validation, testing, issue tracking, stakeholder collaboration, and post-enrollment payroll review.
  • Perform recurring audits across eligibility, dependent verification, deductions, and coverage records, then investigate discrepancies and establish controls to reduce repeat errors.
  • Oversee complicated leave cases in partnership with the leave administrator, ensuring benefits handling and payroll deductions are managed correctly through each stage of leave.
  • Reconcile carrier invoices against payroll and benefits records, resolve retroactive differences, and provide supporting documentation needed for finance close activities.
  • Create employee-facing materials such as guides, targeted updates, and FAQs, and deliver training sessions that improve understanding of benefit programs and leave processes.
  • Maintain process documentation, refine workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy, and support team capability building through guidance and quality reviews.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in human resources, with direct involvement in benefits administration.
  • Hands-on background supporting benefit functions, benefits coordination, and compensation and benefits processes.
  • Working knowledge of leave administration, including FMLA and related compliance considerations.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience auditing data, resolving discrepancies, and producing benefits-related reports or insights.
  • Ability to manage sensitive employee issues, interpret policy, and handle complex cases with sound judgment and attention to detail.
  • Experience collaborating with payroll, finance, HR, vendors, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for employee support, training delivery, and documentation development.
