Compensation Analyst (AE and RD)
About the role
The Compensation Analyst (Additional Earnings & Remaining Deductions) is required to have a Secret Clearance and must reside in South Carolina. This position supports a government contract and adheres to the Department of State's rules and management.
Responsibilities
- Time and Attendance (T&A) reporting (bi-monthly)
- Pay calculation, individual leave accounts, allotments of pay, and other individual pay matters for those paid under local compensation plans at serviced-posts
- Receive, research, analyze, and process pay actions under Additional Entitlements
- Receive, research, analyze, and process pay actions under Remaining Deductions
- Audits, analyzes, and reconciles reports or accounts, and as necessary, makes adjustments which are largely retroactive in nature
- Verifies the validity of personnel actions and personal service contracts/agreements prepared by serviced Embassies
- Answers questions from employees regarding payroll matters (pay, deductions and related matters)
- Calculates overpayments made due to system deficiencies, prepares proposed repayments schedules, and enters the collections in accordance with the debt collections of the Federal Government
- Prepares reports on various aspects of the payroll cycle, as requested by DoS
Requirements
- Senior level experience in management, budget, program analysis, procurement, personnel management, auditing, or inspecting with significant experience reviewing foreign affairs operations
- Experience in providing senior level business process analysis and management analysis services to overseas posts and domestic bureaus
- Experience in workflow analysis, re-engineering, procedures development, project management, resource management, cost analysis, personnel management, budget analysis, auditing or inspecting
- Ability to develop new or revise procedures, techniques, schedules, work assignments and steps to achieve a recommended solution
- Ability to conduct interviews, compile results, prepare documentation that supports a recommended course of action, and prepare supporting material such as flow charts, graphs, tables or spreadsheets
- Ability to perform manual calculations when deemed necessary to verify year-to-date adjustments and corrections when the calculations cannot be performed through the automated payroll system, GFACS, and/or other financial systems as required
- Ability to research, correct, and determine the cause of erroneous payments and timely clearing of domestic and overseas T&A rejects
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in compensation, payroll, or similar field
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on attention to detail and process orientation
- Experience with proprietary financial systems and payroll processing software
- Knowledge of federal regulations and laws governing compensation and payroll

Pay
The starting salary range for this position is between $50,500 - 52,000, plus a generous benefits package.
Schedule
This is a full-time job located on Dyess Ave. in North Charleston, SC. Work hours are 40 hours per week between the hours of 6:00 am - 6:00 pm. Flex-time is available. Core working hours are 9:45 am - 2:45pm. Work schedule is based on the work requirements of our client’s division, Global Financial Services.

To be hired, the candidate must reside in the state of South Carolina. This position supports a government contract and is subject to the government agency rules and management. All contractors supporting the Department of State must be able to either possess or obtain a security clearance of Secret. Employees shall remain in their current position for at least one year before applying for another job within the company or contract.
